What you should know
Smooth Ethnic Paver is suitable for the following areas:
Smooth Ethnic Paver
This contemporary, larger paver has a natural look and bevelled edges.
Because the larger surface creates the perception of space, it leands itself to driveways and landscaping applications in residential estates amongst others.
The only official quality indication for this style of paver, is the SANS 1058 mark of approval.
Easy to install.
Various laying options and patterns are available.
Easy to match or extend existing installations.
All similar shaped concrete paving bricks are not the same.
Our pavers have technically designed and positioned spacer nibs for example.
Inferior manufacturers sell only on price and many of these products are not SABS approved.
Unethical installers will let you pay for a quality product like Bosun, but install a cheap “look alike”.
NEW SABS specification for Concrete paving
Compared to the “old” SANS 1058:2006, the SANS 1058:2012 is a much more comprehensive measurement of quality.
Therefore consider a manufacturer that complies with the 2012 SABS specification.
Bosun paving products carry the SANS 1058:2012 mark of approval.
SANS 1058:2012 ensures the following in concrete paving blocks:
Dimensional accuracy. (Accurately produced blocks are essential for a durable installation. Further, it is also much more aesthetically pleasing.)
Tensile strength, also indicative of compressive strength (Strong blocks won’t crack or crumble under vehicular loads)
Abrasive resistance. (Pavers with a durable surface won’t wear down and expose unsightly aggregates in unreasonable time.)
Bosun uses the best manufacturing equipment.
This paver is produced on our German manufacturing equipment, using German moulds.
Our Hess machines are considered by most to be the best Concrete Block making machines in the world.
Bosun uses the best aggregates
Bosun only use aggregates from reputable quarries and suppliers like Afrisam, approved for use in concrete.
Expect the Best. It is more than a tagline on our logo, it is the reason we exist.
A good installer is essential
Buying the best paver is only 50% of the equation.
Good installation is equally important, and most of the emphasis needs to be on the base layer preparation. This is the support structure on which the pavers are eventually seated.
Ensure your contractor installs according to SANS 1200MJ, the SABS specification for the installation of paving.
